What's the best way to start your yoga journey with Kat
What do you need to get started?
You're in exactly the right place
Do you run Beginners Classes? Where do I start?
Yes - I run the Saturday mornings Gentle Flow Class Series as a Beginners Class.
Each class is structured progressively, so we build skills, strength, and confidence step by step. Each week builds on the previous to create a strong foundation for continued practice. to help you learn, progress, and experience the full journey.
For this reason, please aim to attend each week if possible. Yoga is a practice - and consistency helps you progress.
Do I need to be flexible or fit to start?
Not at all. My classes are designed so you can move at your own pace, with plenty of options for different abilities. You’re welcome exactly as you are.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in — leggings, joggers, or shorts with a T-shirt or light top. Layers are useful, and you’re welcome to keep socks on for the quieter, grounding parts of class.
Do I need to bring anything?
Please bring your own yoga mat. If you like extra comfort, you can also bring a blanket or small cushion for relaxation. All other props are provided. If you need some help with finding a yoga mat - reach out! Bring some water.
When should I arrive?
Class starts with a grounding & centering, promptly at the advertised time, so please arrive 5–10 minutes early so you have time to settle, choose a space, and settle before class starts. This helps you transition out of your day and into your practice.
What happens when you arrive at class?
Unroll your mat anywhere you feel comfortable. I’ll come around to check in, answer questions, and support anyone working with injuries or concerns.
We typically start with a seated, or lying down centering, some breath work, before we move into asanas (postures) & we finish with a longer, lying down relaxation and small meditation (Savasana). The most important parts of the class are those first 5-10 & last 10 minutes. That's where the yoga magic happens!
What if I’ve never done yoga before?
You’re very welcome. I explain everything clearly and offer variations for all levels. You’re encouraged to rest anytime and choose what feels right for your body.
Is the class suitable if I have an injury?
In most cases, yes — but please let me know before class so I can offer safe options and guidance. You’re always in charge of your own pace.
What is the vibe of the class?
Friendly, relaxed, non-competitive, and supportive. The aim is to help you feel grounded, supported, and confident as you build your practice. And maybe a little bit of fun along the way too.
I don't want to start in a group class - do you offer other ways to start yoga?
Yes - I can offer offer private sessions tailored to your exact needs. Click here for Private one to ones, or Contact me to discuss!
