Kat is originally from Belgium and has lived in various countries before settling in Cobham, Surrey, UK.
Her yoga journey began in 2013 as a way to find equilibrium amidst the demands of her high-stress international corporate job and to address a recurring injury. Introduced to yoga through Ashtanga-based flow, she found solace and wellness in the practice.
In 2018, Kat made the bold decision to follow her passion, leaving her corporate career to pursue yoga teaching while continuing part-time consulting. Her dedication led her to complete her first 200-hour teacher training in March 2019.
Furthering her expertise, in March 2020, Kat undertook an additional 200 hours of Anusara® teacher training with Sarah Powell. Subsequently, in June 2020, she achieved certification as a Functional Range Conditioning® Mobility Specialist (FRCms).
Embracing a holistic approach to fitness, Kat enjoys immersing herself in nature, combining intense workouts and strength training with moments of tranquility and mental clarity. She firmly believes that the challenges faced on the mat often mirror those encountered in daily life, with yoga serving as a powerful tool to navigate through them, regardless of one's fitness level, flexibility, or prior yoga experience.
In 2022, Kat took a break of seven months to undergo treatment for breast cancer. This period provided her with a deepened understanding of how yoga can help support physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. She resumed teaching in early 2023 with a renewed perspective and determination to share this practice.
Throughout 2024, Kat took the opportunity to enhance her skills by serving as an Assistant Teacher in a 200-hour foundational teacher training program.
Her passion lies in making yoga accessible to all, sharing its profound benefits with others.
As an E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) with over 2,500 hours of teaching experience, Kat remains committed to her personal growth by participating in various workshops focused on mobility, breath-centered movement, and meditation.
She can't wait to guide you through a yoga practice in the near future!
